Wyebrook Missionary Baptist Church

Letter from Pastor Perry Stewart

September, 2017

Where did the summer go? Kathy and I have had a good summer and enjoyed some time away and some really good family gatherings. Hope things have gone well for you and your family also. God is good, Psalm 86:5 reminds us of his ongoing goodness, “For thou, Lord, art good and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.” And he is good all the time. Amen? Amen.

A lot is happening on our fall calendar here at Wyebrook. The tri-fold you have will give all the details. But I wanted to bring to your remembrance a few that are important to you. Today, August 28, 2017 we are having an Awana/Pro-Teens meeting right after church in the main church. It will be brief. Awana and Pro-Teens will begin Wednesday, September 6, 7:00-8:30 p.m. Please note all children and teens must have a filled out registration form (available on the back table or the website) in order to come out to club. A work day is planned for Saturday, September 9, 8:00 a.m. – 12 noon. Our Round-up Sunday is on the 24th (the last Sunday of the month). We will have cards you can give out to your family and friends who don’t attend church or who are looking to visit with us to enjoy the luncheon and activities of the day with us.

Honey Brook Harmony Day is coming up quickly on Saturday, September 16. We are planning our annual water outreach. We need your help to put labels on water bottles to give away that day for free. We have the water and the labels and if you can take a case or two home and put the labels on the bottles and return them to the gym foyer by Sunday, September 10 that would be great!

Something new we are planning for the 55 and up group is a fellowship luncheon on Wednesday, October 4 at noon in the gym. There is no cost for this and I want to encourage all of you to come and invite your friends 55 and up as we reach out into the community. Our hope is to do this once a month on the first Wednesday of the month. If you would like to help out with this please see me as we are putting together teams of people to do this. My hope is to have enough teams so each team would only do this once every three months!

Many needs of service we have here at Wyebrook and we are thankful for many of you that help out. Jesus said in Matthew 9:37, 38, “Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few: Pray ye therefore the  Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.” There is always a need, so please pray with me and ask the Lord to send forth laborers into HIS harvest. Thanks for listening and praying.

Blessed and still dependent upon the Master,

Pastor Perry
