Pastor's Letter

August 1, 2010

Dear Family of God at Wyebrook,

I’m writing this a little early (July 26) because of timing and vacations. My hope is you are doing okay through the heat. Let’s be thankful we don’t have the problems of too much rain as others do! We are still blessed in this part of the country. Amen? Amen.

Many of you have asked how things are coming along with the house that is to be replaced. The Church Board is going over the information and is in the process of placing the order. The insurance has to give their okay. We are having the foundation checked out and the basement has been gutted. Plans are being made to check and waterproof it. Once the home is set the basement will be dry walled and the floor tiled. We have been told by Patriot Homes once the order is placed it will take 6-8 weeks for delivery. That puts us up around October 1.

The clean up around the property is going very well; most of the work has been completed. We are still in the process of the repairs for the church and the other 2 properties. Thank all of you that have worked and worked hard to get things done. We still have to grind the stumps of the trees and clean up the yard at the new house site. If you can help please let me know. It has been a BIG job but it is getting done.

May I encourage you to seriously consider who you may invite to the house of God. I realize vacations and activities are part of the summer months but I get concerned when our numbers are down. I know people are away but we must strive to reach out to our own people and others around us with the gospel of Christ. Part of that is to invite others to the church whether Sunday school, Sunday Morning Worship, Sunday Night or Wednesday night services. The adult and children’s choir will start up practice beginning in August. Check the weekly bulletin for the dates and details.

No matter how nice the church property looks we need to keep the perspective that we are here to win souls to the Lord Jesus and build one another up in the faith.

Continuing to learn to be dependent upon the Master,

Pastor Perry
