What is God’s plan for me?

Am I in that plan?

1. God’s plan for my need.

What is my need?  My need is to get to heaven when I leave this life.

How am I going to get there?  Maybe even more important is why should I get to go there?

Is there anything wrong with me to keep me out of heaven?

Romans 3:23 tells me, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory (perfection) of God.”

Because heaven is a perfect place there will be no sin there. My sin is what will keep me out of heaven.

2. God’s penalty for my sin is what keeps me out of that perfect place called heaven.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages (earnings) of sin is death” (this death is spiritual separation from God.)

This penalty is the result of my sin, not anyone else’s.

If God allowed sin in heaven it would become an imperfect place. Wouldn’t you agree?

3. God’s answer to the plan for my need and my penalty.

Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth (proved) his love toward us (you), in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (you).”

We saw earlier that my problem is my sin, and God’s penalty for my sin is separation from him. God knew this problem was there from day one of our lives. His plan of allowing his Son to die on a cross and give his life’s blood, thus paying the penalty of my sin with his own life, makes you and I a very special part of his plan.  Most certainly you would not give your life for just anyone unless they were very special to you. Would you? God’s love is shown for you through Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection in your place to pay the penalty for your sin.
