January, 2020

Dear Family of God at Wyebrook Baptist,

It really was “good tidings of great joy” that was shared at our Christmas Musical with our adults and children doing such an outstanding job praising our Savior and his birth though song. It was just great! Thank you to all the adults and children who were a part of things and a special thanks to Sister Dianne Messner for her extra efforts to make things work together to the Glory of God. How blessed we are!

Yes, a new year is upon us but the old promises of the scripture change not. Psalm 119:160 remind us, Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth forever. What good news! Though it is a New Year God’s righteous judgment (his word) endureth forever!

Among all the New year “resolutions” that you might think of making, may I encourage you to take the time daily to read the Word of God. Making a plan to read your Bible daily will help you do it! No plan probably means you won’t. I know that no one bats a 1,000 %, including the Pastor but if you don’t try to plan to do something you will miss out on many blessings God wants to give to you. Wouldn’t it be an awesome thing if everyone in our church committed to reading some of the scripture each day to have a 20/20 vision year. I’m in! Are you?

Certainly 20/20 vision must include a time of prayer. I encourage you to start with a plan of 3-5 minutes a day. The exercise of prayer can also help your stress level too. I know you need to, you know you need to and the Lord knows you need to as well! Luke 18:1 And he (Jesus) spake a parable to them to this end, that men ought always to pray and not to faint. (Quit) I encourage you to pray early when your mind is clear. Let’s pray the Lord will give 20/20 spiritual vision.

I will commit myself to pray for you weekly. May I ask for your prayers? I need it. Praying for one another especially for spiritual strength can lift each of us up and encourage one another. Get a church directory and start there.

Dependent upon the Master to improve my 20/20 vision and yours too!
