Dear Followers of Jesus at Wyebrook,
I am thankful we have the privilege to be disciples or learners of Christ. Jesus’ promise is still true as stated in Matthew 4:19 Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. May we remember we have the privilege to fish so let’s use it. Here is how you and I can use it as we think about this August being “fishing month.”
Saturday, August 3rd, 10:00 a.m. we will meet at the church and go to Indian Run and Deer Run Mobile Home Park to invite children to our up and coming Vacation Bible School which is August 11-15 Sunday through Thursday 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. We need your help to invite these children and their parents to Wyebrook Church. I have asked permission to do this and gotten the okay. This opens up a great opportunity for us to invite these folks to our church! Some of you are planning on helping out for VBS and this Saturday, August 3rd effort is an exciting way to help be “fishers of men.”
Another “fishing opportunity” will be next Sunday, August 4 for our annual Church picnic at West Nantmeal Township pavilion 455 Manor Rd. Elverson right after Church on Sunday. This is a great opportunity to invite friends and/or family to a great meal, fun and fellowship. Please make sure you make extra for your guests! There will be no service that Sunday night so you can spend some time with all the folks that come out! Everyone likes to go to a picnic but you have to do the fishing or inviting.
This year’s VBS a.k.a. Kids Storm is very different in that Evangelist Josh Riffenberg will be with us from Cool Kids Ministry. He will be doing a lot of different things for the first sixty minutes as Tammy Erdeyli and those who help out will be keeping a watchful eye and the last 30 minutes will be a game and snack time. Please see me if you are interested in helping out. We are looking forward to an exciting time for all involved in VBS this year.
Last but not least, “fishing opportunity” on Sunday, August 18 after Sunday night service we will be going to Mom’s Ice Cream. Simply invite your friend to show up for church and buy them an ice cream.
Excited about the opportunities to Fish and Dependent upon the Master for the Catch,
Pastor Perry
