Dear Faithful Servants of Wyebrook,
What a great service we had at our annual Thanksgiving Service last Sunday night. The testimonies were great and everyone present shared the blessings of the Lord to them. I have always hoped that everyone present would share blessings the Lord had provided. It was a very special evening.
Romans 2:4b reminds us… kowing that it is the goodness of God that leadeth thee to repentance. The goodness of God generates in our spirit a deeper appreciation of the goodness of God to us; which in turn creates a desire to serve the Lord. It changes our mind to think on his goodness and therefore want to serve him more.
My how the Lord has been good to us in 2020 in spite of the Covid and all the things that went along with it. I am thankful we were able to have the “Parking Lot Church” which was well attended. Another blessing was Wyebrook going “online” weekly with the Sunday morning service. You folks were very faithful with your financial gifts, whether it was using our “offering box,” mailing your gifts in or giving online you showed yourself faithful. Because of this we finished the new gym floor and spruced up the walls and the baseboard. We were able to purchase the chairs we needed to replace the metal chairs that we have had for many years. Other gifts were given to enable us to do some needed things around the Church as well. We have also been blessed with some new faces and new members also. Thanks to you newcomers for coming out and those of you that have been faithful in making these new folks feel welcomed.
Please mark your calendar so you can be part of these upcoming events:
December 5, 9:00 a.m. Deck the Halls (church Christmas decorating). (We usually get done in 2 hours or so.)
December 6, 5:30 p.m. Pot Luck dinner and Christmas Caroling (dress warm)
Special practices for Children and Adult Choirs for the Christmas program. (See bulletin or events page for more details.)
December 20 11:00 a.m. Christmas Cantata (You don’t want to miss this!)
Yes, another year has come and almost gone. Let’s give thanks to God for his goodness to us. He certainly is worthy of our praise.
Thankful and dependent upon the Master
