Pastor's Corner

January, 2025

Dear Fellow Laborers in the Lord,

I thank the Lord for all of you and for your prayers for me and my family as we follow the Lord. I also thank the Lord for Pastor Perry, and Kathy, who have labored and run with patience the race set before them. I am thankful for the time that we have been able to train under them, and to also share in the future with them as they continue serving the Lord at Wyebrook. It is truly a blessing to have elders that freely give of themselves, with wisdom and patience, setting an example for others to follow and build upon as we carry the torch in our service to God.

This new year brings both excitement and an understanding of how we must be boldly coming to the throne of grace in our time of need. It is exciting to be among fellow laborers in our church that have a heart to dutifully serve our God. However, we also recognize that we are in constant warfare. It is a spiritual warfare that we must be reliant on the Lord to help us, and to recognize our need for Him BEFORE we get into trouble. Our enemy walketh about, as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). Let us be sober and vigilant as we continue in the path God has laid before us, running with patience, together as one body in one truth.

I pray that each of you have been able to enjoy this season of celebrating our Lord and Saviour coming to this earth, Emmanuel, God with us! How wonderful is our God, to have borne our sorrows, lived among us as we mocked and scorned Him, and gave his life on an old rugged cross. So much of our world is blind to the true meaning behind this season. Most have no issue understanding this time of year is special, with time off of work, family meals together, giving of gifts, and much more. The reason behind these actions, as is with most things, is what is altogether missed.

2 Cor. 4:4

Our world is actively blinded! The devil has already labored night and day to prevent unbelievers from seeing the light of the gospel of Christ. They (like as we were) are in need of this truth, and what better time is it to share than now? Let us help cast off the blindness that enshrouds our neighbors, to give them the only true hope humanity has, our Messiah, Christ Jesus. Let us labor in this new year to provide goals to others that will benefit for eternity.

2 Cor. 6:1-2, Isaiah 6:8, Hebrews 4:16

In the Savior’s love,

Pastor Kenneth Miller
