Dear Wyebrook Church Family,
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
My wife and I want to express our sincerest gratitude to all of our church family for the support, prayers and encouragement with our baby Thea being born. It has been a joyful and wonderful thing to see the love of the Lord outpoured upon us through you all. It is a precious joy to share blessings, such as the beautiful gift of a new baby, with our loved ones in the Lord.
This month of May begins our month of prayer! This is a special time of the year in my heart, as I hope it is in yours, to dedicate special time in prayer each day for each other, and to bear one another’s burdens. If you haven’t already picked a prayer partner, it’s never too late! Please find someone that you can share prayer requests with, and pray with daily.
Through the theme of this month, we will be focusing sermons on the topic of prayer and growing our prayer life. Prayer life is such an important aspect of our Christian walk for many reasons, and it will be a lifeline to you through your darkest hours. I pray that the Lord encourages us in at least one way we can grow in our prayer life through the dedication of this month.
The National Day of Prayer is May 7th, in which we invite you to join us at the church property for a group time of prayer and a fellowship of coffee/donuts. This year marks the 250th anniversary of our nation’s independence, and our country certainly needs prayer! May we join together as a body to pray for our nation to turn back to the one who created and redeemed us!
This month also brings Awana to a close as school closes out for the year, and summer begins. We invite all our Sunday School/Awana workers to an appreciation dinner at Yoder’s on May 13th at 6pm. You can sign up to attend on the back table in the sanctuary.
At the end of this month, on May 31st, we look forward to having an altar of prayer at the end of the Sunday morning service, in which we invite all of you and your prayer partners to come to the altar and pray as one before the Lord for the unity, strength and growth of our church body. Please join us for this special event of closing out our prayer month!
In the labor and love of our Lord,
Pastor Kenneth Miller
